LV= SOS Kit Aid & Sticky Wicket V 2011

Make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged youngsters in the UK and overseas - recycle and donate your unwanted clean rugby and cricket kit to LV= SOS Kit Aid at Sticky Wicket V on 27th July, 2011.

Since 2001, SOS Kit Aid, with the support of the International Rugby Board (iRB), has helped over 50,000 disadvantaged young people worldwide to play rugby by providing them withover £2 million worth of good quality recycled kit and equipment.

The kit has been donated by schools, rugby clubs and kit manufacturers. They all recognisedthe opportunity to support a good cause whilst, at the same time, recycling kit which would otherwise become environmentally damaging waste.

From 2011, the SOS Kit Aid scheme has expanded to include cricket kit as well as rugby kit with the goal of helping even more disadvantaged young people in the UK and overseas.

The programme is sponsored by insurance company LV= (sponsors of the County Cricket Championship and the Anglo Welsh rugby competition), and supported by The Lord’s Taverners (the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity and the official charity for recreational cricket), the iRB and the ECB.

To date, over 300 tonnes of environmentally damaging CO2 emissions have been saved by recycling over 60,000 tonnes of sports kit.
