Seven a side Cricket Tournament in support of the Lord's Taverners charity
Schedule
- 10.00 am - Players are requested to arrive at the Hub. Coffee is available in the Hub on arrival.
- 10.30 am - Captains meeting
- 11.00 am - First matches take place concurrently on two pitches to ensure maximum involvement; there will be no interruption throughout the day.
- Two leagues of four with the league winners playing a final. Each team will play a minimum of 3 matches.
- Lunch for players is a running buffet in the marquee from 12 noon until 2.00pm.
- Tea will be available on a similar basis from 3.00pm until 5pm.
- 5.00 pm - Raffle and Auction
- 5.30 pm - The Final
- 6.30 pm Presentation of Sticky Wicket trophy to winning team & presentation of cheque to Lord's Taverners
Rules of Competition
- Normal laws of the game of cricket.
- Each team will have a Captain who is responsible for ensuring his players take the field on time.
- Captains to toss coin during previous match's first innings.
- Seven a side with each side bowling five overs.
- Field placings - organised scatterings!
- The penalty for both a wide and no ball will be an extra ball and two runs.
- A batter has to retire at 25 but he may return at the end of the innings - last man bats on.
- No bowler can bowl more than one over per game.
- The winning side is the team with most runs. If equal the side who loses least wickets is the winner. If still equal the side who hits most sixes.
- Captains must toss up during the previous matches first innings.
- A squad of nine players and one celebrity will make up the playing teams. Replacements are allowed should a player(s) injure themselves during a game.
