Sticky Wicket is organised and delivered as a fundraising event on behalf on the Lord’s Taverners, registered charity number 306054.
The Sticky Wicket Steering Group is a collective of event and exhibition industry people passionate about events and sports and want to raise money for a fantastic charity, Lord's Taverners, for whom we have raised just shy of £550,000 over the last 16 years!
The Lord's Taverners exist to positively impact the lives of young people facing the challenges of inequality. We work across the UK and beyond to provide inclusive and impactful cricket programmes, empowering young people with disabilities and from disadvantaged communities to develop the knowledge, skills, capabilities and confidence required to overcome the challenges of inequality, raise their aspirations and reach their potential.
We are not a business but we are commercially driven! Neither are we exclusive. Anyone who is in the event or exhibition industry is welcome to get involved, support, contribute, help, sponsor and be a networking spectator.
We are a community of people and organisations that collaborate to provide innovative, inclusive, and impactful cricket programmes, empowering young people with disabilities and from disadvantaged communities to develop the knowledge, skills, capabilities, and confidence required to overcome the challenges of inequality, raise their aspirations and reach their potential.
Driven by a passion for equality, we strive to be a lead organisation at the heart of social change, maximising our knowledge, experience and insight gained through our work with young people and their communities experiencing inequality. We will collaborate and become a credible, expert voice and influencer, shaping attitudes and approaches to unite communities in the drive to overcome inequalities.
However, if you want to throw on the whites and rub shoulders with the great and good, set foot on the Sticky Wicket and experience an excellent day of cricket, you will have to sponsor a team or be invited by a sponsor to play.
